Ouida, MMCSS only prioritizes bandwidth inside Windows components like Windows Media Player. iTunes is not affected by this, so making registry changes for the issue I described will not help. Is this a universal issue on your system or is it just in iTunes? If it's universal, try seeing if there is an update for your sound card's drivers.

I have a 1 week old new HP Pavilion dv9925nr notebook with windows vista home premium 64 bit. I immediately noticed a 'speaker problem' when running itunes music (version 7.7) while the wireless network is running - it stutters just like you and Courtney describe - even though I'm not doing anything special. I began to suspect that it was a software issue when i heard the same pauses using the headphones. I performed the edit you described but still have the problem. Any other suggestions? Should I restore the MCSS line in the registry since it is not working?
